Tennessee HS Finalist Lily Parr Stays Local, Commits to Carson-Newman (2021

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Lily Parr of McCallie GPS Aquatics in Tennessee is staying close to home with a commitment to in-state Carson-Newman University (D-II). She’s a senior at Ooltewah High School.

I chose Carson-Newman because it offered everything I was looking for. It is the perfect size, a Christian university, not too far from home, and a great environment.

TOP TIMES (SCY)

  • 50 free – 24.63
  • 100 free – 54.71
  • 100 fly – 1:02.08

Parr, a sprinter, recently clocked lifetime bests in the 100 free and 100 fly at the 2021 Southeastern LSC Championships in February.

At the 2020 Tennessee HS State Championships, Parr made the B-final in the 50 free, hitting a 24.69 to take 14th place.

Carson-Newman competes in the Bluegrass Mountain Conference, and they placed third at the women’s meet this past season. Parr would’ve scored in the 50 free B-final at that meet. She’ll join the team in the fall, with an immediate impact on their sprint free group.
