Just came to send appreciation to Rebecca Soni. Honestly a pioneer communicator, tough athlete and advocate. Ahead of her times then and now and that has zero to do with her actual swimming. She’s so beyond. I just rewatched the 2BR final from Beijing in honor. never quit. Keep shining Soni. The North east misses you.
Outside of going to some person that deals with depression and so forth, books like Tera Bradham Swimming for Freedom certainly help in seeing swimming or sports in a different light. Tera was sideline somewhat by a shoulder injury at age 12 where she was once one of the top age group swimmers. She almost made her goal of Olympic trials cuts but had 3 surgeries do to the injury at age 12 that may or may not have prevented her goal.
