Summer Jrs Qualifier Sarah Sensenbrenner Sends 2022 Verbal to Miami Hurricanes

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Sarah Sensenbrenner from Sarasota, Florida has announced her intention to remain in-state to swim for the University of Miami beginning in the 2022-23 school year.

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic careers at the University of Miami!! I couldn’t have gotten here without the amazing support of my coaches, family, and teammates. Can’t wait to be a hurricane! GO ‘CANES 🧡💚”

Sensenbrenner is a rising senior at Pine View School but at the 2020 FHSAA Class 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships, she swam for Venice Senior High School and placed 2nd in the 100 back (56.48) and 8th in the 200 free (1:50.70). That was a huge improvement in the backstroke; a year earlier she had placed 12th with 57.96. She also swam fly (26.50) on the 200 medley relay and anchored the 400 free relay (53.47) this past season.

Sensenbrenner swims year-round for Sarasota Sharks. She updated just about all her SCY times in March at the Florida Swimming LSC Spring Senior Champs-South. She was runner-up in the 100/200 free, 100/200 back, and 100 fly and 4th in the 50 free. She went lifetime bests in all six events.

In February, she kicked of LCM season with new PBs in the 100 free (1:00.48) and 50/100/200 back (31.65/1:05.63/2:17.86) at Southern Zone South Sectional Meet in Sarasota.

Best SCY times:

  • 200 back – 1:58.67
  • 100 back – 56.22
  • 200 free – 1:50.08
  • 100 free – 52.69
  • 50 free – 24.04
  • 100 fly – 56.94

Sensenbrenner’s best 200 back time would have scored for the ‘Canes at 2021 ACC Championships. It took 54.66 in the 100 back, 1:49.28 in the 200 free, and 54.03 in the 100 fly to get a second swim at the conference meet this season. Miami finished 10th out of 12 teams.
