Alexandra Tomasdottir from Akureyri, Iceland has committed to swim for Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota beginning in the 2021-22 school year.

Tomasdottir specializes in free, fly, and IM. She represented the Icelandic Junior International Team in Prague in June 2019, where she placed 3rd in the 50m fly. In 2015, she won the 400m IM at the Icelandic Junior National Championships. Two years later, she came in 3rd in the 200 IM at the SCM Icelandic Championships. In 2018, she was 3rd in the 100 IM at Short Course Nationals.
Tomasdottir had to take six months off in 2019 to recuperate after a major surgery, but she was back in the pool at the beginning of 2020 and has notched a couple of PBs since then. Most recently, Tomasdottir competed at 2021 Icelandic National Championships in the 50 free, 50/100 back, and 50/100 fly.
