Devin Genderson of Short Hills, NJ has announced her decision to swim for the College of William and Mary beginning in the fall of 2021. She recently graduated from Millburn High School in the spring of 2021 and she has been a year-round swimmer at the Berkeley Aquatic Club.

In March, Genderson competed at the 2021 NJ Winter Champs. She went personal best times at the meet, dropping significant amounts of time in her freestyle events. She swam the 50, 200, 500, and 1000 free and the 100 and 200 fly. Genderson touched first in the women’s 100 fly at the championship meet. Her time of 2:07.56 was right off of her best time.
Genderson took 9.68 seconds off of her best time in the 1000, powering to the wall in a time of 10:38.18 to finish fourth. Later in the meet, she touched fifth in the women’s 500 free. She cut 5 seconds off of her time for a new PB of 5:05.74. She also went new lifetime bests in the 100 fly and 200 free.
She most recently competed at the BAC Summer Champs. Genderson swam the 400 IM, the 100 and 200 fly, the 400 and 800 free, and the 100 breast at the long course meet. She finished within the top 8 in all of her events. She was runner-up in the 400 free, touching in new time of 4:38.70, and she touched third in the 200 fly.

Genderson will be joining the William & Mary women’s team in the fall of 2021. The women were the 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Conference runners-up behind James Madison University. Sophomore Annie Tuttle was the Tribe’s top scorer. She was the conference champion in the 100 and 200 breast and she finished fourth in the 200 IM.
The women brought home a total of 8 gold medals. William & Mary won four of the five relays at the championship meet. Elizabeth Intihar won the 500 free and Anna Kenna took home gold in the 100 back.
Coach Nate Kellogg was named CAA’s Co-Swimming Coach of the Year alongside James Madison’s Dane Pedersen. William & Mary had 14 All-CAA performances, which included nine individual honors.
Genderson will be joining Julie Anderson, Lexi Nussbaum, Natalia Rongione, and Sydney-Cate Thornett as a member of the Tribe’s class of 2025.
