DC’s Anna Hopkin led the pace in the outside lane at the halfway point. Then, Abbey Weitzeil and Madi Wilson accelerated on the last wall for LA to punch another 1-2 finish. Hopkin wound up in third place for the Trident.

LA picked up a big 19 points to put themselves 10 points behind Cali in the team standings.

Cali’s Caeleb Dressel took the race out in 21.89 to establish a body-length lead at the 50-mark. Dressel touched the wall at 45.47, securing 12 points with three jackpot points.

Taking 2-4 for the Aqua Centurions were Alessandro Miressi and Thomas Ceccon, earning 12 points together. Taking third place for DC was Zach Apple, improving from fifth place last week.

Newly-minted 100 fly ISL record-holder Kelsi Dahlia utilized her easy speed off the first 100 at 59.06, and did not let go of her lead. She touched in at a quick 2:03.95 for a 12-point pick-up.

Meanwhile, the Aqua Centurions picked up 11 points thanks to runner-up Alessia Polieri (2:05.98) and 5th-place finisher Laura Taylor (2:08.09).

LA’s Tom Shields took the easy lead for the Current at 52.29. Meanwhile, DC’s Andreas Vazaios inched on LA’s Tomoe Hvas at the 150-mark for top-three contention. At the finish, Shields clocked in 1:50.24, three seconds faster than last week.

Breaking up LA for second place was Vazaios, hitting in at 1:51.35 to Hvas’ 1:51.50. Placing fifth for the Trident was Zach Harting (1:52.39), totaling 11 points.

Coming in hot at the finish for a new Canadian national record and nabbing 15 points for the LA Current was Ingrid Wilm, clocking in a time of 55.94. Coming in for a 2-4 finish, worth 12 points, were Ali DeLoof and Linnea Mack.

The Condors now only lead over the Current by 7 points.

Taking another backstroke win for Cali was Coleman Stewart, staying under 50 seconds with a time of 49.38. Picking up another 1-2 finish for the Condors was runner-up Justin Ress, totaling 19 points in this event.

Finishing 3-5 for the Trident were Mark Nikolaev and Jacob Pebley, combining for 10 points to tie them with Aqua for third place in the team standings.

Picking up her second 100 IM victory this season was Cali’s Beata Nelson, earning 10 points with an effort of 58.02 to hold off LA’s Anastasia Gorbenko and Beryl Gastaldello. Both Cali and LA picked up 13 points each in this event.

Aqua is now one point ahead of DC for third with their 6-point pick-up in this event.

Another 100 breast ISL win went to Lilly King, earning 12 points for the Condors at 1:03.57. Sliding in between Cali’s Molly Hannis for second place points was Aqua’s Arianna Castiglioni, besting Hannis 1:04.04 to 1:04.39.

LA finished 7-8 in this event, but wound up getting jackpotted.

Aqua’s Nicolo Martinenghi lunged at the finish to touch out Cali’s Nic Fink by one one-hundredth for the 9-point win, 56.85 to 56.86. Taking third place to give Aqua a total of 15 points was Arno Kamminga.

Cali’s Kevin Cordes took fourth place to give the Condors a total of 12 points.

Taking a surprise yet crucial 50 fly win for the Aqua Centurions was Holly Barratt, holding off Condor Beata Nelson 25.40 to 25.51 for the 9-point victory.

Equaling the Condors’ 10-point pick-up with a 3-5 finish LA’s Helena Gasson and Anna Ntountounaki.

Picking up his first win in this event for the season was Caeleb Dressel, picking up 15 points with a 22.23 effort. Swimming just 0.09s behind for second place was LA’s Tom Shields, who earned 12 points in the 200 fly earlier.

Unfortunately for the DC Trident, their 6-8 finish got jackpotted as the Aqua Centurions earned 10 points from their 3-5 finish.

Aqua’s Federica Pellegrini led six-tenths over LA’s Madi Wilson at the 150-mark, until Wilson out-swam Pellegrini during the finishing meters to take another event victory by 0.11s, 1:53.75 to 1:53.86.

DC’s Leah Neale and Joanna Evans finished 3-4 to give the Trident 11 points.

Repeating their 1-2 finish from the 400 free were Martin Malyutin and Fernando Scheffer, picking up 16 points for the LA Current. 

DC earned another 3-4 finish, courtesy of Aleksandr Shchegolev and Zane Grothe. The Trident out-scored Aqua to inch closer to them in the team standings, now trailing by 18.5 points.

Tom Shields made his move for LA on the fly leg with his 48.5 split, putting them into the lead with Cali running second and third. But it was all Abbey Weitzeil on the free leg, giving LA the mixed medley relay win.

The Aqua Centurions snuck in for second while Cali faded to third place.

DC’s Bailey Andison and Zsuzsanna Jakabos were pacing with Cali’s Beata Nelson during the backstroke, grabbing 10 checkpoint points for the Trident. Andison then pulled ahead of Nelson on the breaststroke, extending her lead into the freestyle.

Andison picked up 26 total points to put DC ahead of Aqua by 9.5 points for third place.

Out of the outside lanes, Aqua’s Ilia Borodin threw down the first sub-4:00 swim in the men’s 400 IM with a 3:59.57, picking up 16 points as an individual. Giving Aqua a 1-2 finish to put them 7.5 points ahead of DC was Chase Kalisz.
