Butterflier Lindsey Drumm Verbally Commits to Dartmouth

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Lindsey Drumm, a butterflier from the FMC Aquatic Club, has announced her verbal commitment to the application process* at Dartmouth College.

The Fenwick High School senior is set to join the team in the fall of 2022.

I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Dartmouth College to continue my athletic and academic careers. A huge thank you to my family, coaches, and teammates for making this possible for me. Go Big Green!!!!”

Recently, Drumm competed in the Section 1 Speedo Summer Sectionals in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. She placed in the top 16 in the 100 and 200 meter butterfly, and finished top-30 in the 200 freestyle.

She has Futures cuts in the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Her best short course times are:

  • 50 freestyle: 24.39
  • 100 freestyle: 51.75
  • 100 butterfly: 55.78
  • 200 freestyle: 1:53.51
  • 200 butterfly: 2:05.41

Dartmouth College is a member of the Ivy League. At the 2020 women’s Ivy League championships — the 2021 meet was canceled due to COVID-19 — Dartmouth placed seventh out of eight teams. Considering Mia Leko, the only Dartmouth swimmer to make A finals at that meet in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:58.70, will graduate at the end of this year, Drumm has the opportunity to add needed depth in that stroke. Only one Dartmouth swimmer made finals at all in the 100 butterfly — now-graduated Katherine Cane swimming in the C final with a time of 55.97. Drumm can also contribute in that race.

Looking at the team’s top-10 times in each event, Drumm would snag the tenth-fastest 100 butterfly. Drumm joins verbal commits Lane Murray, Julianne Jones, and Carly Joerin.

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.

If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to [email protected].
