UMBC, Vermont & Binghamton Earn America East Weekly Honors

BOSTON – The pools were open for the first time this year as Binghamton, UMBC and Vermont began their 2021-22 seasons last weekend.

UMBC opened the season in its home pool hosting Johns Hopkins and Delaware. Binghamton and Vermont both competed against Army at West Point.

Here are the first weekly awards of the season:

Female Swimmer of the Week
Jackie House, Vermont – Fr., Freestyle, Madison, Wisc.

  • Won the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle against Binghamton and Army.
  • Swam 1:53.49 in the 200 and 5:03.76 in the 500.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Kai Wisner, UMBC – Sr., Distance, Syracuse, N.Y.

  • Won the 1000 freestyle against Delaware and Johns Hopkins.
  • Wisner swam the event in 9:33.89.

Female Diver of the Week
Amanda McGraw, Binghamton – Sr., Warwick, N.Y.

  • Won the 1-meter diving with 248.18 points.
  • Also found the podium in the 3-meter with a third-place finish.

Male Diver of the Week
Will Henrickson, UMBC – Jr., Ellicott City, Md.

  • Scored 235.05 en route to a win in the 3-meter dive.
  • Placed third in the 3-meter.
