Summer Juniors Qualifier Wyllo Hanson (2023) Verbally Commits to Auburn

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Wyllo Hanson from Williamsburg, Virginia has made a verbal commitment to the Auburn University class of 2027 where she will join fellow commits Carissa Rinard, Lawson Ficken, and Olivia Dinehart in the fall of 2023.

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to Auburn University! I knew as soon as I met the team and coaches it is where I should be. Can’t wait for 2023 to continue my academic and swim career on The Plains! Very thankful for my coaches, teammates and family for getting me where I am today! WAR EAGLE! 🦅 #WDE”

Hanson is a junior at Jamestown High School. She swims year-round with Coast Guard Blue Dolphins and is a sprinter with a Summer Juniors cut in the 50 free and a Winter U.S. Open cut in the 100 free. As a freshman, she swam the bookend freestyle events at the 2020 VHSL Class 4 State Championships, finishing second in the 50 free (24.05) and fourth in the 500 free (5:01.75).

In her sophomore spring, she earned all new PBs in March 2021 while swimming with CGBD, first at the Virginia LSC Short Course Senior Championships, then at the ISCA International Senior Meet. During the former, she was a top-8 finisher in all her events: 50 free (6th), 100 free (4th), 200 free (5th), 500 free 8th, 1000 free (7th), and 1650 free (6th). In Orlando, she was runner-up in the 50 free and also finaled in the 100/200/500 free, and 50 fly.

Best SCY times:

  • 50 free – 23.56
  • 100 free – 50.15

  • 500 free – 4:53.28
  • 1000 free – 10:09.52
