Women’s 200 Medley Relay
- NCAA A Cut: 1:36.40
Missouri’s A team of Meredith Rees, Kayla Jones, Sarah Thompson and Megan Keil just missed out on the NCAA A cut in the first event of the evening, going 1:36.41. Reed was 24.72, Jones went 27.47, Thompson was 22.39 and Keil was 21.83. Missouri’s B team — Molly Hogg, Molly Winer, Ashley Gill and Sierra Smith — was second in 1:40.67, while its C team was fourth in 1:41.52.
Breaking up the potential Missouri sweep was Nebraska’s team of Autumn Haebig, Maia Hall, Milica Opacic and Alexa Kucera at 1:41.32.
Men’s 200 Medley Relay
- NCAA A Cut: 1:24.22
Missouri also went 1-2 on the men’s side, with two very close relays. The winning team of Jack Dahlgren (21.89), Ben Patton (23.70), Danny Kovac (20.46) and Kevin Hammer (19.17) went 1:25.22. The B team — Grant Bochenski, Tyler Spillane, Kyle Leach and Alex Moore — was 1:25.36.
Cal Baptist touched third at 1:27.32 with its team of Jacob Leahy, Jonathan Reiter, Josh Walters and Remi Fabiani.
Women’s 100 Fly
- NCAA A Cut: 50.92
Missouri’s Meredith Rees took home a convincing win in the first individual event of the session, clocking in at 53.49. She split 24.75/28.74.
Nebraska’s Alexa Kucera was second in 54.30, splitting 25.55/28.75 for a new best time. Her teammate Milica Opacic was third in 54.69, splitting 25.23/29.46, also a best time.
Men’s 100 Fly
- NCAA A Cut: 44.96
Missouri’s Danny Kovac won the event, leading a 1-2-3 finish for his team, by over two seconds. He dropped a 45.31, splitting 21.07/24.24 for what would have been the fastest time in the country before the nationwide invites began (Kovac had already been 45.77 this season, No. 2 behind Luca Urlando‘s 45.61 before this week) Luke Davis was second in 47.43 (22.05/25.38) and Alex Moore was third in 38.12 (22.06/26.06).
Women’s 400 IM
- NCAA A Cut: 4:03.62
Nebraska’s Berkeley Livingston ran away with the win at 4:17.10, splitting 56.36/1:05.75/1:15.03/59.96. She shaved over half a second off her previous best time in the victory.
Cal Baptist’s Patricia Van Law placed second in 4:20.37, splitting 58.06/1:03.45/1:18.02/1:00.84 and adding a couple seconds from her prelims swim. Wyoming’s Kayla Cunningham was third at 4:21.62 (59.76/1:06.58/1:17.56/57.72).
Men’s 400 IM
- NCAA A Cut: 3:39.16
Missouri went 1-2-3-4-5 in the men’s 400 IM. Jack Dubois led the way in 3:46.75, splitting 50.72/58.58/1:04.10/53.35. He was nearly five seconds ahead of second-place finisher Noah Scheuermann, who was 3:51.51 (51.16/1:00.20/1:06.55/53.60). Mikolaj Malec was third in 3:54.28, splitting 51.79/58.59/1:10.39/53.51.
Their teammates Dane Florea (3:56.78) and Brandon Schuster (3:56.92) were fourth and fifth.
Women’s 200 Free
- NCAA A Cut: 1:42.98
Nebraska’s Autumn Haebig took the win in the women’s 200 free, going 1:46.00. She split 52.64/53.36.
Missouri went 2-3-4 in the event with Allison Bloebaum leading the way at 1:47.30 (52.29/55.01) — a best time. Macy Rink was third at 1:47.52, splitting 52.68/54.84. Molly Gowans was fourth at 1:48.01.
Men’s 200 Free
- NCAA A Cut: 1:32.05
Missouri saw a 1-2 finish on the men’s side. Jack Dahlgren won the event in 1:33.60, splitting 45.23/48.47; he was .05 faster in prelims. Dahlgren’s appears to be the first in the nation under 1:34 this season, although it’s difficult to keep track with all of the simultaneous invites. Calvin Windle was second, but almost three seconds back at 1:36.30. He split 46.60/49.70 en route to a new best time.
Cal Baptist’s Remi Fabiani was third in 1:36.36 (47.22/49.34).
Women’s 100 Breast
- NCAA A Cut: 58.46
Missouri went 1-2-3 in the women’s 100 breast, with Katrina Brathwaite coming out on top. She went 1:00.62, splitting 28.59/32.03. Molly Winer was second in 1:1.92, splitting 29.02/32.90, while Kayla Jones was third in 1:01.99 (28.94/33.05). Both Winer and Jones were faster in prelims.
Men’s 100 Breast
- NCAA A Cut: 51.59
Missouri also went 1-2-3 on the men’s side. Ben Patton, who went a nation-leading 51.50 in prelims, won the event in 51.68 Thursday night. He split 24.08/27.60). Tyler Spillane was second in 52.48, splitting 24.40/28.18. Rounding out the sweep was Josh Pales in 52.76, splitting 24.46/28.30.
Women’s 100 Back
- NCAA A Cut: 50.93
Missouri again went 1-2-3-4 in the women’s 100 back.
Sarah Thompson put up the top time at 51.59, splitting 24.57/27.02. Thompson’s time would have ranked her No. 3 in the nation before the start of invites. Meredith Rees, who won the 100 fly earlier in the session, was second at 52.83 (25.45/27.38). Amy Feddersen was third at 54.95 (26.31/28.24)., adding over a second from her prelims swim.
Men’s 100 Back
- NCAA A Cut: 44.94
Missouri’s Grant Bochenski won the men’s 100 back in a new best time of 47.52. He split 22.51/25.01, shaving a tenth off his prior PR. Cal Baptist’s Jacob Leahy was second in 47.74, splitting 22.80/24.96 — he added a quarter second from his prelims swim. Missori’s Cade Oliver finished third in 47.92, splitting 23.30/24.52.
Women’s 800 Free Relay
- NCAA A Cut: 7:00.86
The University of Nebraska women took the top spot in the 800 free relay. Shannon Scott led off in 1:49.95, followed by Alexa Kucera at 1:49.01, Milica Opacic at 1:51.93 and Autumn Haebig at 1:44.86.
Missouri’s B team out-swum its A team by exactly two seconds — 7:16.84 to 7:18.84. On the B squad, Molly Howans led off in 1:48.21, Macy Rink followed in 1:47.56, Sierra Smith went 1:52.02 and Hayley Hill anchored in 1:49.05. On the A team, Amy Feddersen led off in 1:51.58, followed by Allison Bloebaum at 1:49.04, Ana Pozder at 1:48.08 and Jane Smith at 1:50.14.
Men’s 800 Free Relay
- NCAA A Cut: 6:16.80
Cal Baptist won the men’s 800 free relay in 6:36.26. Remi Fabiani led off in 1:38.29, followed by David Miller in 1:40.03, Matthew Niculae in 1:38.01 and Brandon Schuster in 1:39.93.
Wyoming’s Ryan Netzel (1:39.80), Luke Walker (1:40.19), Gavin Smith (1:41.61) and Daniel Cumnock-Francois (1:40.91) combined for a 6:42.51 in second place. Missouri S&T finished third in 6:49.49 with the team of Alec Davis (1:42.66), Connor Wiedemeier (1:40.87), Alexander Graham (1:43.51) and Aidan Walters (1:42.45).
Missouri’s men did not compete in the 800.
