St. Bonaventure University freshman diver Zyad Morsy has had an impressive beginning to his collegiate diving career and will look to continue his success when he represents his home nation of Egypt in the FINA World Junior Diving Championships 2021 that will take place Dec. 2 – 9.

So far this season, the first-year collegiate diver has been victorious in multiple diving events at the Bonnies’ four meets thus far.

In just his first semester as a Bonnies student-athlete, Morsy earned Atlantic 10 Men’s Swimming and Diving Rookie of the Week after breaking the school record in the 1-meter dive at the Atlantic 10 Classic on Oct. 30.

The FINA World Junior Diving Championships are held every two years, bringing together young prospects from the strongest nations to compete at the world level. Due to COVID-19, the championships scheduled for 2020 were rescheduled for this December.

The Cairo, Egypt native travels to Kyiv, Ukraine to compete in age group A, which consists of 17, 18, and 19-year-old divers from all over the world.
