Charlotte, NC– The CCSA Women’s Swimmer of the week honor is secured by Liberty University’s Genna Joyce. Joyce, who participated in the Toyota U.S. Open, winning the B Final in the 200 Breaststroke. She went on to place ninth overall, being added to a small but pretigious group of Liberty swimmers who have closed out scoring points at a national meet.

Joyce had one of the most successful national-meet performances in program history. She placed ninth in the 200 breaststroke (2:36.19), winning the B Final at the 2021 Toyota U.S. Open on Saturday. She had qualified 14th in 2:40.08, before dropping nearly four seconds in the final. Joyce finished fourth among all NCAA swimmers in the event. She is the fifth Liberty swimmer in program history to score points at a USA Swimming national-level meet, and her ninth-place finish is the second best placing of any Liberty swimmer nationally. On Friday, she qualified for the C Final in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.22).
