Pepperdine’s Emily Morton Named PCSC Swimmer of the Week

MALIBU, California – For the fourth time in her career, Emily Morton has been named the PCSC Swimmer of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday. This is her first weekly award of the season.

Morton (Golden, Colo./Lakewood HS) posted top scores for the Waves in Fresno and Bakersfield over the weekend. She had a season-best 2:06.74 in the 200 back and followed that up with a 4:36.73 time in the 400 IM. Ending the meet against Fresno State, she was part of the second-place team in the 200-medley relay (30.7 breast split). Ending the weekend in Bakersfield, Morton won the 200 IM (2:10.77).

This is the sixth weekly honor for Pepperdine this season.

The Waves will be back in action this weekend, January 21-22 in San Diego for the WCC Cup.
