BROOKLYN, N.Y.- The Sacred Heart University women’s swimming and diving program returned to the pool with a 128-113 victory over St. Francis (N.Y.) on Sunday.

Of Note:
- Senior Nicole Tingley was a triple winner capturing first in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle relay with times of 25.32, 54.71 and 1:42.30.
- Melanie Sanchez tallied two victories, winning both the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:11.83 and being a member of the 200 freestyle relay winning group.
- Sophomore Olivia McNicholas continued her impressive season winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives with scores of 232.30 and 237.52. She now ranks second in program history in the 3-meter dive.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – In its final home competition of the season, the St. Francis Brooklyn women’s swimming & diving team hosted Sacred Heart for a dual meet on Sunday.
The Terriers were defeated by the Pioneers by a slim margin, 113-128, despite some impressive individual performances by the home team.
St. Francis kicked off the meet with Kayla McKenzie scoring a second place finish in the 3 meter dive (220.75).
The SFBK 200y medley relay team (Alizee Brossier, Kristy Nagtzaam, Cassandre Zenon, Bia Gomes Angelo) scored the Terriers’ first win of the meet with a 1:51.47 time.
Mariajose Lopez maintained her run of form in distance events. Lopez finished first in the 1000y freestyle (10:43.02), more than 27 seconds ahead of second place. She later cruised to an eight-second victory in the 500y freestyle race, finishing in 5:17.34.
Nagtzaam and Elayna Pistrin each trailed the other in a pair of 1-2 finishes. Nagtzaam took first in the 200y individual medley (2:12.42) and Pistrin took second (2:16.24).
Their finishing order was flipped in the 200y breaststroke, when Pistrin touched first (2:28.06) and Nagtzaam was just behind (2:28.36). They finished more than nine seconds ahead of the field.
NEXT UP: SFBK is back in the pool on Feb. 2 at 5:00 p.m. when they close out the regular season in the Bronx against Fordham.
