BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – No. 14 Indiana picked up two wins on Saturday at Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center including its first conference win of the season. It prevailed 6-3 over No. 13 San Jose State before also defeating Salem, 14-8.
KEY MOMENTS
- Indiana faced an early deficit to the Spartans, trailing 1-0 after the first quarter. Senior Izzy Mandema would tie the game up at the 7:21 mark of the second quarter as Indiana scored three unanswered to tie the game at the break, 3-3.
- Mandema led the way in the second half as she netted all three goals for the Hoosiers and left San Jose State scoreless the remainder of the game to pull out the win.
- Offense was on display against Salem, going up 5-1 in the first quarter. Indiana went up five, 8-3, at the break as the senior Tina Doherty netted a hat trick in the win and nine different players recorded a goal in the win.
- Indiana improved to 12-12 overall for the season.
