We sat down with Olympic champion Michael Andrew, who is currently in Croatia with Team USA as they prep for the upcoming world championships. Andrew gives us the scoop on how training camp is going for him and what his “USRPT taper” looks like as well as what working with coaches Todd DeSorbo and Eddie Reese is like. Andrew speaks to the fine line that is towed by athletes of being teammates yet competing for the same spot on a relay, a situation he will encounter multiple times throughout the course of these championships.

Michael Andrew is a class act!
A humble champion with regard for everyone!
He’s a surfer and brings all that surfing is to the gang of crazy swimmers he adores.
He’s adapting and will go 1:53 with some help from Phelps, Eddie and everyone.
As good as Caeleb is, he’s got a problem with Andrew. It’s all friendly but serious competing!

Wish him the best Hoping for good things in all his events. Seems positive and up. Nice to see him away from the fam and with other coaching. Maybe some time in Austin or in Europe afterward without fam will do him some good.
Should watch Lochte’s video on underwaters and read comments for tips. Head down at breakout is good advice, and we are waiting to see the 200 free for the relay. If he pulls it off, maybe he’ll give us a solid 200 IM soon.
Time away after may help him accomplish that be it Texas Florida Ohio State ir somewhere in Europe South Africa, or Australia.

Michael Andrew received a lot of hate way before covid. His refusal to take the vaccine is just another excuse people use to justify their hate. Its ok not to like him, but dont make lame excuses

I seriously think he’s going to positively surprise a lot of people at worlds with his performances. He seems really dialed in, focused, and confident. Moreso than before the Olympics.
