Water Polo Taking Over Bay Area This Weekend With USA/Italy Series, Start of JOs

Irvine, CA – July 13 – Northern California will be the epicenter of water polo in the United States this weekend as the USA Men’s National Team hosts Italy in two exhibition matches alongside the start of the Junior Olympics, the world’s largest water polo tournament. Team USA and Italy resume their three-game series on Friday night at Stanford University’s Avery Aquatic Center at 10:30pm et/7:30pm pt, followed by the series finale on Saturday at Santa Clara University at 10:00pm et/7:00pm pt. Both matches are SOLD OUT but will air LIVE on the ESPNU and stream on the ESPN app. LIVE stats for both matches will be available via 6-8 Sports at 68Scores.com. Saturday morning, the 2022 Junior Olympics gets underway as thousands of athletes open competition in a 12-day tournament spanning Northern California and the Dallas Metroplex in Texas. Session 1, featuring Boys 12U, 14U, 16U & 18U competition starts on Saturday with champs crowned on Tuesday, July 19. Session 2 begins on July 21 with competition from Girls 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U plus Mixed 10U & 12U. More than 25 venues from Marin County down to Gilroy and across the San Francisco Bay to Walnut Creek and Brentwood will host Junior Olympics action during these two sessions. From there the action heads to the Dallas, Texas area July 28-31 featuring Girls & Boys 14U, 16U, 18U alongside Mixed 10U & 12U. Live streaming from Game On Live Studio (GOLs) will be provided for select matches, including the Platinum division finals. Session 1 streams can be accessed here.
