Delaney LaBue Returns To Niagara Purple Eagles As Assistant Coach

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Former Purple Eagle Delaney LaBue has been named assistant coach of the swimming and diving program, head coach Eric Bugby announced Tuesday afternoon. 

LaBue was a four-year member of the Purple Eagles swimming and diving program and helped the women’s team win its first-ever MAAC Championship this past season.

During her collegiate career, she set multiple program-best and pool-best times, including the 800 free relay program record time of 7:31.89 set on day one of the 2022 MAAC Championships. LaBue also holds top-10 times in the 200 free, 200 fly, 100 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM events.   

LaBue has taught individual swim lessons in her hometown of Rochester, NY since 2014. LaBue has also worked at Niagara Falls Country Club as a swim coach. From June 2021 until August 2021, LaBue served as the assistant coach for the swim team at NFCC and taught private lessons. This summer, she was elevated to swim team head coach and serves as the pool director for the club.

LaBue graduated last May cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Childhood & Special Education 1st grade-6th grade with a concentration in Liberal Arts. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Childhood & Special Education Birth-2nd grade from the university.
