WILMINGTON, N.C. – Highlighted by home meets with three ACC schools and Tennessee, UNCW head swimming and diving coach Bobby Guntoro has announced the Seahawks schedule for the 2022-23 season.
“We’re looking to build off the success we had last season and a schedule like this will help us continue to get better,” said Guntoro, who enters his third season with the program. “Our student-athletes want to be challenged and they’ll have the opportunity to compete against some of the elite talent in the country with this schedule.”
The David B. Allen Natatorium will play host to Duke, Georgia Tech and North Carolina in the fall portion of the season along with Army-West Point, William & Mary, Tennessee and Campbell for a total of seven meets, all coming in the first three months of the season.
The Seahawks will host Army-West Point in the season opener for both programs on Sept. 24. UNCW swept the Black Knights to open the 2021-22 season.
William & Mary visits for a dual meet on Oct. 1, which includes the UNCW men and the Tribe women, who both won the CAA Championships last winter.
UNCW closes out its home schedule on Oct. 29 when it hosts Duke on Senior day.
In the final meet of the fall semester, UNCW will compete at the Gamecock Invitational, Nov. 16-18, in Columbia, S.C. Joining the Seahawks at the meet are Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern, North Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Vanderbilt and host South Carolina.
The CAA Championships will be held on Feb. 22-25, in Hampton, Va., at the Hampton Aquaplex.
All home meets and the CAA Championship meets are slated to be streamed on FloSports. Viewers can get a discounted rate by clicking on the “Watch ” link on the schedule pages.
