Kayleigh Duffy, a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Virginia Beach, Virginia, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Virginia for 2024-25.
“I chose UVA for its incredible combination of academic and athletic excellence, its upbeat team culture, and family like atmosphere.”
Duffy is a junior at First Colonial High School. She swims year-round with Tide Swimming and specializes in sprint free, back, and fly. At the 2022 Virginia High School Class 5A State Championships last winter, she placed third in the 50 free (23.81) and fourth in the 100 free (51.83). A month later, she achieved four lifetime bests in the 50/100/200 free and 100 back at the Virginia Swimming Senior Short Course Championships. She was 9th in the 50 free, 9th in the 100 free, 16th in the 200 free, 15th in the 100 back, and 21st in the 100 fly, finaling in all her events.

UVA is off to a very quick start in putting together the number one 2024 recruiting class, with #2 Leah Hayes, #3 Anna Moesch, #9 Bailey Hartman, #12 Katie Christopherson, #17 Charlotte Wilson, and “Honorable Mention” Aspen Gersper, in addition to Duffy. The Cavaliers begin this 2022-23 season as the double defending NCAA Division I champion and have already flexed their collective muscles, posting a number of nation-leading times in their November dual meets.
