Russian backstroke Kliment Kolesnikov adds to his legacy, securing the 50m back (SCM) world record after France’s Florent Manaudou had owned it for 8 years.

Swimming at the Russian Championships in Kazan, Kolesnikov had swum 22.31 in the semi-finals, setting the stage for what could be a historic swim. The Russian delivered, hitting the wall in 22.11 to dip .11 under Manaudou’s old record.
