The Sandpipers of Nevada were in their element in the girls 500 free, going 1-2-3 for the second year in a row. This time, they had two swimmers, Bella Sims and Katie Grimes, break 4:30, both coming in under the West meet record and the pool record. Claire Weinstein also swam a personal best, clocking a 4:33.03.

In her second race of the night, Bella Sims showed her incredible versatility, roaring to victory with a 1:52.73. She also shattered the meet record in the event.

500 free is it’s own story, but after watching Bella’s IM. Two things.

1. Her underwaters are unbelievable, especially on backstroke.

2. That was the best back-breast/bucket turn/whatever you want to call it that I’ve ever seen. She just yeeted herself at the wall and came right off.
