Braden Holloway: “This is the way dual meets should be all the time”

NC STATE VS. TEXAS

NC State head coach Braden Holloway was very pleased with how his wolfpack swam in Austin this past weekend as well as the way the dual was run as a whole. Holloway praised the level of energy that Texas was able to bring to the facility. He expected his swimmers to be pretty good but was pleasantly surprised at the times they were able to post when the put fast suits on and raced the best in the country.

That is what swim meets should be like. We were watching through the live stream and wish we could have been there. The energy was awesome.

I wonder if Coach Braden did any house touring while he was in Austin. Would be a no brainer move given that he’s hit the ceiling at NCSU.

Stop the cap, not even close to the ceiling at state.

Facts are facts. State has been 4th at NCAAs 5 of the last 6 years. 4th place = ceiling.

Todd is 100% correct. Just a better rep school alone might push Braden to the top.

Just look at Desorbo. Uva much better school than nc state and way more popular on east coast. He passed Braden overnight in the women.

I know they film queer eye for the straight guy in Austin too. Braden would fit right in

lmaooooo, but there is some truth to that. All the top 25 1.something power index guys NCS continues to get every year hasn’t really amounted to individual scoring… they are carried by Kacper and Nyles.

UT did a great job advertising this meet at one of their Age group meets. We had officials and parents ask to cancel practice so that athletes could go see it. So we did.

Having Bevo out there brought a lot of people out as well. Brought my two girls out there to see Bevo and they loved it. There were a ton of olympians in attendance as well and the cheerleaders did a great job rallying the crowd.

Having NC State as competition was great as well. NC State is a fast team and carry a tremendous amount of school spirit. Wish I could have stayed longer but little one had poopy pants and we left the diapers in… Read more »

BH is pretty chilled out for having lost both days – close points totals, of course. I suspect he, too, is playing the longer game where NCAA’s are where everything is on the table.

I think the video BOMBERS are NC STATE swimmers Hastings, Alons , Watson and Helms . Braden enjoyed the ladies enthusiasm!!

What a backwards world we live in where the quieter Saturday session better mimicked the environment of NCAA’s and Friday was too hype.

The worst international hed coach ever. Men’s 200 free relay fifth place at SCM Worlds was due to terrible head coach decisions.

Yeah well Braden and Reese left MA (20.39 50 free anchor split) off the relay and used Kibler (21.1 anchor split) instead. It was the difference between Gold and fifth.

MA was not a for sure thing. He wasn’t all in and his inconsistency showed it. It wasn’t his decision alone, the coaches made the decision as he stated in a previous SS video.

MA is one of USA’s most consistent 50 free swimmers. He is silver medalist in LCM world championships in 50 free. The reality is he swam some personal best times at the meet. He also beat Kyle Chalmers 3 times in head to head competition in the 50 free ay SCM Worlds. Twice on relays which Kyle is excellent on relays and once on the 50 free event. Leaving MA off the.200 free relay probably cost a Gold medal and Worls Record. His inconsistency was in the 100’s and a lot of that is the turns. The 100 IM he missed the back to breast turn,
