Earlier this week, USC men/USC women/Trojan Swim Club head coach Dave Salo announced plans for a tentative dual meet between the USC men and the Trojan Swim Club professional squad.

This could be one of the more interesting NCAA exhibitions ever put together, with the USC men’s squad–headlined by Dimitri Colupaev, Cristian Quintero, and an absolutely loaded freshman class–competing against the likes of Ous Mellouli, Mike Alexandrov, Kosuke Kitajima, Dominik Meichtry, and a surprisingly large portion of the Russian World Championship Team (Vlad Morozov, Nikitia Lobintsev, Alexander Sukhorukov, among others).
No word the course (SCY vs. LCM) or what events will be offered, but just for fun, here’s what the skeleton of a potential Trojan Swim Club lineup would look like under the SCY “long format” (assuming the suspended Mads Glaesner participates):
400 medley relay: Morozov, Kitajima/Alexandrov/Glenn Snyders, Sukhorov, Meichtry
1000 free: Mellouli, Glaesner
200 free: Meichtry, Lobintsev, Alexander Tikhonov (Russia’s #1 400 IMer, 1:49.1 LCM 200 free)
100 back: Morozov
100 breast: Snyders, Alexandrov, Kitajima
200 fly: Sukhorov
50 free: Lobintsev, Morozov

100 free: Lobintsev, Meichtry
200 back: Tikhonov
200 breast: Snyders, Alexandrov, Kitajima
500 free: Mellouli, Glaesner
100 fly: Sukhorov

400 IM: Alexander Tikhonov, Mellouli, Glaesner
200 free relay: Sukhorov, Lobintsev, Morozov, Meichtry
In what language will they be announcing the meet?
Mads is no longer suspended BTW, he was only out for 3 months starting in March.
Kind of like a pick up game of basketball!
