American Caeleb Dressel, swimming in the final of the boys’ 50 free at the 2013 FINA World Junior Championships in Dubai, has broken his first National Age Group Record as a 17-18, within two weeks of aging up into the group.
Dressel swam a 22.22 to place 3rd in the final and break one-tenth of a second off of the record held by his Bolles teammate Santo Condorelli two weeks ago in 22.32 at Junior Nationals.
Note that Dressel briefly held the standard as the fastest 18 & under American Junior when he swam a 22.39 at Junior Nationals to break the 15-16, and existing 17-18, records (Shayne Fleming, 22.47).
Dressel now holds both the 15-16 and 17-18 National Age Group Records in long course meters, plus the 50 yard record for 15-16’s.
That converts to a 19.29 SCY, which reafirms the Bolles practice video we all saw.
And that is also nipping at the heals of Jimmy Feigens National highschool record…
Kid said he was going to go fast in the 50 and the 100 after that 200, looks to be on point with that 22.22…

No matter what he thinks about his medal position, he still broke a Usaswimming age group record, which is always an impressive accomplishment. He will go 21 next summer. Nice job Caeleb.
