Video Interview: Cal Bears Whitley, Jett, Gonzalez, and Lasco Share What Sets Cal Apart

The Cal Bears won their second-straight title last night. Fifth-years Reece Whitley and Hugo Gonzalez de Oliveira say they returned for a last year to help Durden and the team to another title. Sophomore Gabriel Jett and Destin Lasco share what the Cal program means to them. Whitley expresses his appreciation for Cal and explains why the team has had so much success over the years. “This is what happens when you’ve got great coaches and kids that love each other,” Whitley said, “I’m a Bear for life.”

Without 5th years in the mix, would Cal still have won? Or would ASU have snuck by them (given they wouldn’t have House in that case).

Qualifying would also look a lot different cause then you gotta scratch each 5th year from the psych sheet and recalculate. Too much work to figure it out but I would imagine there would still be multiple teams in the mix just based on talent from all the top teams.
