USC’s Bayley Weber was a force to reckon with once again, and top-ranked Stanford was unable to handle her powerful performance in a key Trojan victory last weekend. For her efforts, Weber has been selected the MPSF Player of the Week for the third time this season and the fifth time in her USC career.

In the pool for every minute of USC’s 17-12 win over No. 1 Stanford, Bayley Weber led the Trojans with four goals on six shots while adding a steal and a drawn exclusion. Weber was key to keeping Stanford within reach in the first half, scoring her first goal early in the second period to get USC a 4-3 lead. Her second goal came in the third to net a 9-7 USC lead just a minute after Stanford had tied it 7-7. In the fourth, as USC turned it up and outscored the Cardinal 5-1, Weber tallied two more during USC’s five-goal rally to take a commanding lead.
Weber’s fourth goal of the game also marked the 204th of her career to lift her to No. 9 all-time in scoring at USC. Weber continues to lead the team with 18 multiple-goal outings this season. She also leads with goals scored in 21 of USC’s 23 games this season. USC’s win over Stanford snapped a three-game skid against the Cardinal, and the Trojans’ 17 goals was the most ever scored by either team in a USC-Stanford meeting.
Weber and the Trojans are playing their final home games of the season this week, with two games set for action at Uytengsu Aquatics Center. USC hosts LMU in a nonconference clash at 5 p.m. on Thursday (April 13) before a Senior Day celebration to be held in advance of USC’s MPSF game against Arizona State at 1 p.m. on Saturday (April 15).
