The Race Club Video: Backstroke Swim Technique With Mikita Tsmyh

Courtesy of Gary Hall Sr., 10-time World Record Holder, 3-time Olympian, 1976 Olympic Games US Flagbearer and The Race Club co-founder.

Mikita Tsmyh competed in the 2016 and 2021 Olympics for Belarus and has an outstanding backstroke swim technique. We had the opportunity to work with Mikita using our Smart Paddle and Velocity Meter technology. While Mikita has a very good coupling motion, stroke rate, head and body position in his backstroke swim technique, we found room for improvement in his pulling motion. In this video, Gary Hall Sr breaks down some simple mistakes that Mikita is making and measures exactly how much they are costing him. Whether you are world class, age group or masters At the Race Club we help swimmers of all levels and abilities learn to swim faster and improve their technique.
