Rhyan White qualified for her 2nd LCM world championships last week after making the move from Tuscaloosa to Raleigh just a month prior. White felt ready for a change, feeling the need to grow before realizing what a challenge it was to do so in a familiar environment. The Olympian in the 200 back also rediscovered the ability to race without putting so much expectation on herself, which netted her positive results.
Go Rhyan!!!
NC State is backstroke university. No wonder Daniel Diehl committed there!
Rhyan making the team was one of the bigger surprises for me at this meet after her NCAA swims this year. Good for her for taking the risk at a fresh start!
In regard to the domestic competition, the W 200 BK (LCM) is an absolute bloodbath:
Smith
White
Curzan
Noble
Bacon
Coleman needs to do another pancakes and practice with all the super backstrokers training at NCSU!
This girl doesn’t get enough credit. Women’s backstroke is so unbelievably competitive in the US, and she’s been able to pull off qualifying for the Olympics and now two world championships, with great times every year. Plus she seems like a very nice and down to earth person. I really hope to see her on the podium at World’s again
for such a high level athlete, she seems so down to earth. Glad to see her in the right place and hope to see her on the podium next month with Regan.
