Tulane’s Raymond, Florida Atlantic’s Mora Earn American Athletic Conference Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving awards.

SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Victoria Raymond, Freshman, Tulane

Raymond aided the Green Wave to wins against North Florida and Little Rock by sweeping the butterfly events with a pair of Tulane school records. The freshman finished first in a time of 53.51 in the 100-yard butterfly and won the 200 fly in 1:58.25. Her 200- and 100 fly times rank 10th and 11th in the nation, respectively, and were NCAA ‘B’ Standard times.

DIVING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Alicia Mora, Graduate Student, Florida Atlantic

Mora captured the 1-meter event at the TYR Fall Classic with a total score of 316.60 points, over 55 points higher than second place. She also finished with 283. 05 points on 3-meter, which was the second-highest score of the meet in the event. Both scores were NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks.
