October 17th, 2023 College

The biggest dual meet this weekend is a two-day meet between Arizona State and NC State. The meet will be an exciting one, especially on the men’s side as Arizona State was second at men’s NCAAs while NC State was fifth. In addition, our SwimSwam pre-season power rankings had the Arizona State men 1st and the NC State men 5th. The NC State women were ranked 5th while the Arizona State women were 17th in SwimSwam’s pre-season power rankings.

Duke and Virginia Tech is also one to look out for. The Duke women were ranked 16th and the Virginia Tech women were 18th in our pre-season rankings.

Michigan and Arizona will travel to Wisconsin for a tri-meet. This will be the first scored meet for the Wolverines under the new coaching staff lead by Matt Bowe.

Where's the story

Is anyone going to talk about the ND vs PENN vs PITT meet and how the unranked Pitt men’s team only lost to the 17th ranked Notre Dame team by 2 points?

Interesting points of interest for NCState@ASU:
1)First meet of season for NC State;
2)Pan Ams day one is on LCM day of ASU/NCState competition, with each group having participants, including athletes on the pro squads based at each location, on the USA PanAm squad:

NCState/Wolfpack Elite – Kennedy Noble (actually from Avondale, Arizona), Arsenio Bustos, David Curtiss(Pro?), Will Gallant, Luke Miller, James Plage

ASU/Sun Devil Swimming: Paige Madden(Pro – reps New York Athletic Club but training at Sun Devil), Jonny Kulow, Jay Litherland(Pro)

All these athletes, except possibly Curtiss, would have been available to swim in either college or pro opportunities in meet at ASU but for selection and swimming at Pan Ams in Santiago, Chile, 10/21-25/2023.

I believe Dylan Gravley ASU Junior is also on the Pan Am squad on the US squad as an open water swimmer

Re Dual Meet Live Recap: The ASU-NCState weekend is slightly modified from how the ASU-Georgia weekend was executed. Both will have had both a LCM component and a SCY component, but they are reversed this time.

Friday afternoon, 10/20/23, at 2:00 p.m.(Arizona Time) the scored NCState@ASU SCY standard format (4×50 MR, 200 IM, 4×100 FR) meet will be held, and is scheduled to be concluded by 4:45 p.m.(Professional swims during breaks) 2hrs45 minutes, for you, Braden!!

Saturday morning, 10-21-23, at 10:00 a.m. a LCM Open Invitational will be held, scheduled to conclude at 12:45 p.m., again 2hours45 minutes. Everything is exhibition/non-scoring, with no entry limit and Pro swimmers incorporated into the heats.

Event order: 100 fly, 200 back, 100… Read more »

ASU will blow the 4th place enthusiasts out of the water and make them look like a D3 community college squad

The hate for State runs deep. I’ll bet Andrew is the life of a party. I have never seen so much negativity from any one person. Definitely one of a kind. Congrats. You are in a league of your own.

I’m actually impressed. He’s got to be pretty intelligent to be able to find ways to constantly be negative towards certain things/coaches/programs.

I couldn’t be as negative as he is if I was paid to be.
