GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay swim and dive team impressed once again against cross-town foe St. Norbert last Friday evening, defeating the Green Knights overall 349.5-100.5. The GB women scored 171.5 points while the men racked up 178.

FINAL RESULTS

Green Bay tallied numerous first-place finishes, thanks to solid performances from McKenna MetropulosAlexa Kelly, and Max Kasal. Metropulos took the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, and 200 free relay. Her victories in the two freestyle events were close, beating out the second-place finisher by just a second. Kelly dominated the 400 IM and 500-yard freestyle, winning both events remarkably. Her time of 4:50.12 in the IM was the best by eight seconds, while her final time of 5:20.84 in the freestyle was good by 13 seconds. Overall, Green Bay took the top three spots in the 200-yard medley relay, four of the five places in the 100-yard backstroke, the top three places in the 100-yard breaststroke, and four of the five top places in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Kasal crushed the men’s events for GB with three more first-place finishes. He was the winner of the 100-yard butterfly by six seconds, beating out St. Norbert’s Ivan Young. Later, he was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle by nearly 47 seconds. He notched a time of 4:45.11, far ahead of the Green Knights’ Dexter Thielhelm, who placed second with a time of 5:32.84.

Annie Frederickson and Sam Morris highlighted the diving portion of the meet. Frederickson set a new PR on the three-meter board, scoring 265.58 points, surpassing her previous PR by nearly 30 points. Her one-meter score of 248.70 was also a new PR. Morris took first place in the one-meter event with a personal-best 243.75 points, far past his previous collegiate PR.

Green Bay will be back in action on November 30th at the Rochester Invitational.

GREEN BAY – St. Norbert College senior Jenna Brandenburg picked up an individual event win as the Green Knights faced NCAA Division I opponent UW-Green Bay, falling 171.5-47.5 in a dual meet at Dorschel Natatorium.

Brandenburg won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:01.11 for the Green Knights’ lone event win. Earning second-place finishes were Lacy Geurts in the 50-yard freestyle (25.71), Jamie Peterson in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.79) and Janie Richards in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.09). The 200-yard freestyle relay of Sanya WienkeLexi LaCombeAlisha Draeger and Lacy Geurts finished second in 1:45.54.
