South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men’s swimming and diving team returned from its winter break on Friday night with a 164-124 victory over NJIT in dual meet action. The Pirates claimed the win in 13 out of the 16 events on the night.
The swimming events began with the 200 Medley Relay which saw the Pirates earn the top spot. Chris Jackson (Maywood, N.J.), Ben Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.), Michael Klimaszewski (London, England) and Toma Adam (Bacau, Romania) combined to touch the wall in 1:31.64. All four would go on to win individual events on the night as well.
Jackson claimed the top spot in the 50 Back, doing so in a time of 23.92 as the Pirates swept the top three spots. Endersby’s win came in the following event in the 50 Breast, finishing with a time of 26.15. Klimaszewski followed up with his win in the 100 Fly with a time of 49.68, and later took the win in the 50 Fly in 22.66. Adam rounded out the dominant stretch by the relay team by winning the 50 Free in 20.92.
Adam, Endersby and Klimaszewski would link up for another relay win later in the meet. The trio, along with KEVIN CARY, took home the 200 Free Relay win in a time of 1:24.04. This was one of two wins on the night for Cary, who also claimed victory in the 200 Free with a time of 1:41.14.
Other Pirate victories on the night came courtesy of Clil Halevi (Kafar Hadranim, Israel), Gideon Langenbusch (Oberhausen, Germany) and Sean Vizzard (Mount Laurel, N.J.). Halevi and Vizzard took the top two spots, respectively, in the 500 Free, with Halevi clocking a winning time of 4:41.14. The two traded places in the 1000 Free, with Vizzard taking the win in 9:29.70. Langenbusch’s win came in the 200 IM, touching the wall with a time of 1:57.74.
In diving, Quinn Murtha (Cumming, Ga.) and Trevor Post (Bay City,Mich.) each took home victories. Murtha posted the highest score in the 1-meter, finishing with 312 points. Post narrowly edged out the victory in the 3-meter, posting a score of 316.35 for the victory.
The men will return to the pool next Saturday as they celebrate Senior Day ahead of their dual meet against Delaware at 12 p.m.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — The NJIT men’s swimming and diving team opened the 2024 calendar year with a hard-fought 164-124 defeat against cross-county rival Seton Hall Friday evening at the Pirates’ Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium.

- NJIT picked up five event victories against Seton Hall Friday: Francois Malherbe in the 100 Free (46.26) and 50 Fly (22.85), Laith Sabbah in the 500 Free (4:49.89), Sam Deemer in the 200 IM (1:58.15), and Aidan Blackmon/Ian Horstkamp-Vinekar/Laith Sabbah/Zac Kuzak in the 200 Free Relay (1:28.02)

NJIT will swim at the Joel & Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center Natatorium for the first time in 2024 and last time this season on Saturday, January 20 against Rider. The Senior Day meet is scheduled for a Noon start.
