HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Swimming and Diving team (4-2) won its final meet of the regular season Saturday, 169-131, over the Toledo Rockets at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium.

“So proud of how this team showed up for our seniors today,” Herd swimming and diving head coach Ian Walsh said. “Our parents and fans created an incredible environment as we competed against a really strong Toledo squad. Top to bottom, we had several inspiring performances.”

Highlighting the event were 10 top-10 program performances led by Paige Banton setting the program record in the 200 Breaststroke (2:12.75) by two-tenths of a second.

“As a team, we had 10 lifetime best performances, 10 all-time top-10 performances, three pool records and one school record this morning,” Walsh said. “The staff was most pleased with what we’re doing in training is translating into our race performances. Paige’s races were stellar today, setting a school record and two pool records. The 200 Breaststroke was one of the highlights of the meet, besting her conference winning performance from 2021 (2:12.75).  Madeline also had a great showing, setting two personal bests, two All Time Top 10 Performances, and a pool record in the 200 Butterfly (2:01.19).
