High-Level International Meets For March 2024

The month of March brings us our first wave of Olympic Trials, with nations such as Italy, Japan and Korea holding their national championships as Paris qualification competitions.

This is just the beginning, however, as April, May and June are also packed with selection meets heading into the final stretch for the Games.

In case you missed it, we published the month-by-month Olympic Trials meet per nation here.

As always, let me know in the comments of any meets I may have inadvertently missed.

NSW Champs entry list is up. Fair to say it’s stacked. Mollie, McKeon, McKeown, Arnie, Cam, Flynn, Kyle, Temple, Lani.

Short the biggest name not there.

Ooooh I’m excited for NSW States. Sometimes get a few stars there and it’s where Kaylee set the 200 WR last year

Hope we get some potential Olympic swimmers testing the water.

Strongly suspect SPW will come out to play at NSW. In the days of April Trials, it was always the final hit-out and would thus see near Nationals fields. Even with the (long overdue) switch of Trials dates; it will still see fields of around 75% quality in many events.

Brisbane and Gold Coast Regional meets to be held on 8-10 of March would probably sweep up majority of remaining high profile swimmers not attending NSW states

Rackley in particular seems to prefer the Brisbane meet but I hope they’ll do NSW States this year.

Some Rackley swimmers were at Vic titles.

SPW has tended to use NSW as a major pre Nationals hit-out. Griffith will most likely send at least part of their elite squad; almost certainly McKeown will be there.

Looks like Rackley have chosen Bris Metro or maybe they’re doing both (C1 and Kai Taylor are also entered and I’d be surprised if they’re missing NSW States).

Swimmer — if you count up the number of countries represented on the collegiate squads and the number of quality athletes, it is certainly a superior competition the others in this list; the only drawback for many people reading this string is that it its in SCY, not LCM.

You are missing the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Game in which a short course meters competition will be held.
