This is a 12-month, full-time position responsible for assisting the head coach with all phases of the men’s and women’s swimming program in a manner compatible with department and University philosophies.
Responsibilities:
Assist the head coach in the following primary responsibilities:
- recruitment of prospective student-athletes
- coaching, mentoring, and retaining student-athletes
- in-season practice and meet planning; pre and post season conditioning
- compliance with NCAA Division II, GLVC, and University rules and regulations
- assist with all aspects of team’s fundraising
Additional responsibilities for on-campus natatorium include (but not limited to):
- manage pool usage schedule including open swim and intercollegiate athletics;
- hire, train, and schedule lifeguards as needed;
- coordinate with Physical Plant pool maintenance technician as needed;
- any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Required qualifications include: A bachelor’s degree; demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills: CPR and First Aid Certification. Also must be able to travel for competition and recruiting with most travel occurring evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include: a master’s degree, collegiate, USA/YMCA club, or high school coaching experience; collegiate swimming experience, familiarity with team and meet manager software.

Salary
Starting annual salary is $40,000.
