04/04 – 04/07 Portuguese Open National Championships (POR)
Although, I concede that you might hardly call it a high-level meet if not for Ribeiro

Strange to see Lani Pallister in the 200Fly entries.

And Sally Hunter in the breast is a real blast from the past.

Both Strauch and Hodges competing too (50 and 100BR) – that is def. noteworthy.

Again, the 100Back is missing a certain Cooper, I. The wait continues!
He is entered in the 100Free though – be interesting to see if that shows any gains from a more aerobic focus (as I thought he was planning).

Note that the lists aren’t final until end of April Fool’s Day. 🙂

Did you watch Brett’s most recent podcast with Cooper? It didn’t give the impression he intends to do much aerobic training.

so he’s backed out of his claim to the 100 back that he made in december? not surprising tbh. I only see him swimming the 50 free in paris, maybe the 100 back if woodward doesn’t have an alternate, but not the 4×100 free

He said the only aerobic training he needs is surfing.

Yep. Perhaps we can just hope that he’s surfing more often/for longer….

Aussie Champs entry list is out for anyone interested

Surprisingly there’s no Titmus entered. Surely it must be an error?

Looks to be her only “off” event. Will be interesting as to how seriously she takes it if indeed she does swim it. Will be interesting to see what Forrester delivers given its her first real outing of the year after a significant break-out 2023. Given Melverton’s loss of form, it would appear that she and Ramsey have the inside line for this event.

entry list came out today from my really quick look Titmus and Wunsch seem like the most notable absences, Kim Woomin vs Short vs Winnington 400 free and Seto vs Lewis Clareburt 400IM should both be fun current vs former world champions races, Kaylee is doing her once a year 400IM and ZSC is entered in the 200im??

wunsch is swimming at national age in the weeks prior. she’s likely putting her hand up for junior pan pac selection if she misses the olympic team, and simply doesn’t spend 2 weeks racing. only concern is if she scratches again
