(NLI Photos) Brett Ringgold Signs On in Long Line of Texas 50-100-200 Freestylers

Brett Ringgold has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to swim for the Texas Longhorns, setting him up to be perhaps the next great 100-200 freestyler in a long line of them for the Longhorns. (Think Dax Hill, Ricky Berens, Garrett Weber-Gale, Dave Walters, Matt McGinnis, etc.)

Ringgold has already been 19.73/43.44/1:38.22 in the 50/100/200 yard freestyles. So far early this season, he was a 20.8 in the 50 free over the second weekend of November, plus a 49-second 100 yard fly (he’s been 48.4 in that race).

Ringgold swam a 20.3 50 free and a 44.9 100 free at a TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) meet he was invited to last Saturday. Both swims broke Division 1 TAPPS state records, but as he is homeschooled they will not be recognized.
