2024 U.S. Olympic Trials: Chase Kalisz Scratches 200 Fly (Day 4 Finals Scratches)

2024 U.S. OLYMPIC TRIALS

Chase Kalisz has scratched the semifinals of the men’s 200 butterfly after posting the 7th-fastest time of the morning. The two-time (soon to be three) Olympian was just about a second over his season best from the San Antonio Pro Swim Series (1:56.71).

There are at least two swimmers breathing a sigh of a relief; Carl Bloebaum and Logan Robinson tied for 16th (1:58.37), but will now safely advance to finals.

We’ve already reported on Luke Ellis‘ scratch from the final heat of the men’s 800 free. That moves Ohio’s Charlie Clark into lane 8.

There are no other scratches for tonight.
