Bonnies Men’s Swim & Dive Adds Seven Recruits For 2024-2025

St. Bonaventure University men’s and women’s swimming and diving head coach Mike Smiechowski has announced the addition of seven student-athletes to the join the Bonnies men’s program for the 2024-25 campaign.

“I am very excited about this class and our ability to improve and compete at the top of the Atlantic 10,” Smiechowski said. “In the past two years, our current athletes have been instrumental in creating a championship culture, setting the foundation for incoming athletes to come in right away and compete. This incoming class is filled with high level athletes that believe in what we are doing and believe in our vision. It’s going to be an exciting year for both our men and our women.”

Aidan Kreiley, Mark Mizsei, Connor Peck, Will Parker, Mark Cattron, Quinn Borchers and Josiah Knapp will all add to the squad for the 2024-25 academic year.

Aidan Kreiley joins the Brown and White as a graduate transfer from Louisville. A native of Dansville, N.Y., he was a four-year member of the Cardinals swimming program, competing in the breaststroke and helping the team to the 2021 ACC Championship. As a junior at ACC Championships, Kreiley qualified for the ‘B’ final of the 100-breaststroke and the ‘C’ final of the 200-breaststroke while also competing the preliminaries of the 200-IM. As a senior last year, Kreiley was named to the ACC All-Academic Team. He has also spent time with Mercury Swimming. Kreiley will work toward his masters of sports administration at St. Bonaventure.

Career best times: 100-Breast: 53.25, 200-Breast: 1:53.99, 200-IM: 1:50.21

Joining the Bonnies is Mark Mizsei from Budapest, Hungary, competing in the butterfly.

Career best times (LCM): 100-Fly: 54.23, 200-Fly: 1:58.78

Connor Peck comes to St. Bonaventure from Cary, N.C. and Green Level High School where he competed in the IM and the 1650-freestyle. Peck is a Junior National Championship qualifier and was named the MVP of Green Level HS in 2021. He has also competed for the North Carolina Aquatic Club, earning three silver medals from 2021-23.

Academically, Peck was a member of the honor roll all four years of high school. He plans on majoring in pre-med at St. Bonaventure.

Career best times: 200-IM: 1:50.55 400-IM: 3:56.73, 1650-Free: 15:52.99

Will Parker joins the Bonnies as a breaststroker from Lebanon, Pa.

Parker swam the breaststroke leg of two YMCA National Champion 200-medley relay teams with the York YMCA. In the classroom, Parker was selected as an USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and intends to major in education.

Career best times: 50-Breast: 25.75, 100-Breast: 55.75, 50-free: 21.00, 100-free: 46.66

Mark Cattron comes to St. Bonaventure from Sharon, Pa.

Cattron was a freestyle swimmer for Sharon High School where he was a four-time PIAA qualifier. Cattron is a four-time PIAA All-State selection and is a four-time finalist at the PIAA meet. As a senior in 2024, Cattron finished fourth in the 200-freestyle and eighth in the 100-freestyle. Also in 2024, he touched the wall first in the 200-freestyle at District 10 Championships while capturing second place in the 100-freestyle. He currently holds the District 10 record in the 200-freestyle.

He is a three-time Region 1 Swimmer of the Year as well as a three-time Region 1 First Team selection. He also holds the Region 1 record for the 200-freestyle and 200-IM. Cattron was a three-year varsity captain.

Academically, he is a member of the National Honor Society and was the recipient of the George Eastman Young Leaders Award. At St. Bonaventure, he will major in kinesiology.

Career best times: 100-free: 46.84, 200-free: 1:40.94

Quinn Borchers joins the Brown and White as a freestyle, backstroke and IM swimmer from Medfield, Mass. and Medfield Senior High School.

Borchers has spent time with Bluefish Swim Club, Kingfish Swimming Medfield and Shawmut Aquatic Club. He is a multiple time New England event winner and was a finalist at the Junior National Championships. He intends on majoring in sports studies or kinesiology at St. Bonaventure.

Career best times: 200-fly: 1:51.61, 200-back: 1:49.89, 200-IM: 1:52.71, 400-IM: 4:00.77

Josiah Knapp joins the Bonnies as a diver from Mesa, Ariz and Skyline High School.

Career best scores: 1m- 485.60,3m- 460.90

Nice looking class from the Bonnies here, looks like a lot of conference points coming in and a couple guys that could potentially grab an NCAA invite with a little improvement. Good for them and the A-10!
