A women’s dual meet between the BYU Cougars and the Oregon State Beavers scheduled for Saturday, January 11th in Corvallis, Oregon has been ‘indefinitely postponed,’ the schools announced today. The ‘winter vortex’ that has swept the country and left inclement weather conditions will leave the meet in limbo, with no makeup date yet scheduled.
The meet was set to be Senior Day as the final home meet for three Beavers. The two schools are discussing a possible makeup, but were non-committal in whether-or-not that would happen.
As of now, Oregon State’s next scheduled meet will be on January 24th on the road against Washington St., before finishing up their regular-season slate with road meets against Idaho and Boise St. the BYU women will be back in action against Denver and New Mexico, in Denver, on January 17th.
The weather in Corvallis over the weekend is forecast to be in the upper 40’s, with a 100% chance of rain on Saturday, according to weather.com. The weather in Provo, Utah, home of BYU, is expected to be significantly worse, with the temperature set to crack freezing only once in the next week.
