65yr Ke Shirish Patki Ne Ki 16km Ki Historic Solo Sea Swim

Pune ke Neco Sky Park, Vishal Nagar ke resident Pimple Nilakh and retired banker, Shirish Anant Patki (65) ne 17 November 2024 ko Gateway of India se Atal Setu tak 16 km ki sea swim 4 hours 17 minutes me complete kar ke ak remarkable feat achieve ki. Sunday ki chilly morning me  iss event ko held Mumbai Sea Swimmers ne Maharashtra Amateur Aquatic Association ke supervision me kiya tha.

Patki ki achievement isliye bhi stand out karti hai kyunki unka manna hai ki unki age me kisi bhi Indian ne 15 km se jada ki solo swim ko attempt or complete nahi kiya hai. Ye extraordinary accomplishment Indian aquatic sports me trailblazer kr roop me unki jagah ko cement karti hai.

Kabhi badminton ke shaukeen rahe Patki ne 50 saal ki age me swimming ki taraf rukh kiya, jab ak major bike accident me unke right hand ka radial head kat gaya. Swimming unka passion ban gayi aur tab se unhone state aur national swimming competitions me kai medals and trophies jeeti hain.

Iss event par vichar karte huye, Patki ne bataya ki initial challenges par kaise kaabu paya gaya, jisme samudra me kachre ko cross karna aur swimming ke dauran thakan se joojhna shaamil tha. Halanki, unke determination ne unhe India ke sabse longest bridge, Atal Setu pool ke neeche finish line tak pahochaya.

Unforgettable experience ko yaad karte huye Patki ne kaha, “Main starting point par khada tha aur mera dil teji se dhadak raha tha – dar se nahi, balki iss challenge ke adrenaline se.”
