DETROIT — The Wayne State University women’s swimming and diving team hosted Division I Oakland of the Horizon League on Saturday afternoon, but was bested by the Golden Grizzlies, 152-86.

“Oakland was certainly a formidable opponent, but we certainly had some nice races,” said head coach Sean Peters.  “I was impressed with our 1650 races and we had some strong performances all around, both in swimming and diving.  With more than four weeks before the conference meet, and with our final meet of the regular season next Saturday, we are looking forward to fine tuning ourselves and getting ready for our conference championships.”

Next up on the schedule, as coach Peters mentioned, is the Warriors’ final meet of the 2024-25 regular season.  Wayne State will host Division III Calvin on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
