USA Swimming Foundation Learn-to-Swim Grants Increase by $17,000 in 2024

The USA Swimming Foundation Impact Report for 2024 has been released, showing an increase in money awarded in learn-to-swim grants.

USA Swimming announced that $830,000 in learn-to-swim grants were awarded to 162 swim lesson providers in 40 states, which reached more than 14,000 individuals.

In comparison, $813,000 in grants were awarded in 2023.

Another increase from 2023 was funding to support learn-to-swim programs and competitive opportunities in communities served by Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Grants were given to 11 programs in HBCU communities, compared to eight in 2023. There were also 14 Community Impact Grants awarded.

The report also said that $1.1 million was awarded to support the U.S. National Team, which was actually a $100,000 decrease from the slightly more than $1.2 million awarded in 2023.

There were 30 athletes supported through the donor athlete partnership program.

The Foundation Impact Report is released each year to detail USA Swimming’s initiatives to promote water safety, provide access to swimming lessons and support competitive swimming opportunities.
