Luca Urlando Scratches 400 Free, Trenton Julian Out of Fly Events On Day 3 of Sacramento PSS

2025 Pro Swim Series — Sacramento

University of Georgia star Luca Urlando has dropped one of the three events he’s entered in on Day 3 of the 2025 Pro Swim Series stop in Sacramento, keeping entries in both butterfly events.

Urlando, who impressed with a new personal best en route to placing 2nd in the men’s 100 fly on Thursday night, has scratched out of the 400 freestyle on Friday morning but holds his entries in the 50 and 200 fly, which come about an hour and a half apart in the prelim session. The 400 free is scheduled for half an hour after the 50 fly, so he avoids the triple with this scratch.

Other notable names scratching events on Day 3 include Trenton Julian and Penny Oleksiak, who both swim for Mission Viejo and didn’t race yesterday despite holding their entries.

Julian drops out of the men’s 200 fly as the #4 seed and the 50 fly as the #3 seed, while Oleksiak is out of the women’s 100 fly (#8 seed) and 50 free (#3 seed).

The French duo of Mary-Ambre Moluh and Lilou Ressencourt, who both swim for Cal in the NCAA, have also scratched from Day 3 after they did so yesterday, as has Sun Devil Swimming’s Jack Dolan and Aussie Tommy Neill.
