Katie Ledecky is one of the semi-finalists nominated for the 84th AAU Sullivan Award. The Sullivan Award honors the top amateur athlete each year.
Ledecky is the youngest nominated athlete at 16 years old, and has an impressive resume to back it up. In 2013, she broke 2 world records, won four gold medals at the 2013 FINA World Championships, broke 4 American records, won five national titles, and was recognized by FINA as the 2013 World Swimmer of the Year.
The public vote will influence the athletes total score, and will be taken into consideration when they choose their winner. Missy franklin won this award in 2013.
