NBAC, the club that is most famous for it’s training of Michael Phelps for most of his swimming career, is expanding at a rapid clip, and along with that they have announced the hiring of four new coaches. Among these coaches is Eric Posegay, who is the former head coach of the club that produced 2011 USA Swimming National Champion Gillian Ryan, who was the meet’s youngest championwhen she won the 800 free in 8:27.
He and Stevie Coble were recently engaged, and came from Parkland together to NBAC.

The North Baltimore Aquatic Club has hired four new coaches, according the Head Coach and CEO Bob Bowman.
Eric Posegay, formerly the head coach of Parkland Aquatic Club (PAAC) will be coaching the High Performance level of NBAC alongside Coach Bowman. Eric took PAAC from a high school feeder program and turned it into the top ranked USA swimming club in Pennsylvania for five years running. During that time, the club nearly doubled in size. The club reached level 3 in the Club Recognition Program and was named a Silver Medal Club for 2011.
Middle Atlantic Age Group Coach of the Year 3 straight years, Eric coached 5 different swimmers to Olympic Trial Qualifying times. Three different swimmers have represented the USA on International Teams. Erik was named an assistant coach on the 2010 Junior Pan Pac Team where his swimmers won four international medals. He has coached two different swimmers onto the National Junior Team and one onto the National Team. Most recently, Erik had 1 swimmer win a USA Swimming National Title in Women’s 800M Freestyle. Prior to coaching PAAC, Coach Posegay was the assistant coach at the Emmaus Aquatic Club (EMAC) from 2002-2005.
Chris Collier is joining the staff coaching in the Imagination level, as well as assisting with High Performance. Chris is an ASCA level 4 coach who has been coaching for more than 25 years. Chris has produced swimmers who have achieved National Top 16 qualifying times, Zone Team selection, Select Camp qualification, Junior National, National and Olympic Trials qualifications.
Chris has been a Head Coach, Head Age Group Coach, Club Manager, Senior Program Director at YMCA’s, High School teams, and a Summer Club. His high school and summer league teams have each won three state and league championships.
Chris is a 1992 graduate of University of Delaware with a degree in Physical Education. He is a lifelong resident of Newark, Delaware and proud father of Andrew (15), Melissa (11) and Benjamin (9).
Stevie Coble will be coaching in NBAC’s Discovery level. She began coaching for the Ephrata Summer Swim Team from 2004-2007. Upon her college graduation, in 2008, she began coaching for the Lancaster Aquatic Club in Lancaster, PA.. Stevie served as the Head Assistant Coach where she coached several swimmers to Junior Olympics, Zones, the PIAA State Meet, and many team records. Stevie also helped coach a PIAA State record holder, Olympic Trial qualifier, and a National Youth Team member.
Stevie then moved to the Parkland Aquatic Club in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She served as the 8 and under division director, doubling their mini program. In Summer 2011, Stevie also took charge of the 9-10 division at PAAC. She has assisted with the National Team, coaching two National Youth Team members and a National Champion.
Jeffrey Lindner returned to NBAC in June 2011 to assist with the NBAC Swim Camp. He will be coaching in NBAC’s Challenge level. Jeff began swimming in his freshman year of high school for NBAC Coach John Cadigan at Archbishop Curley. By his senior year, he was training with NBAC’s senior level under Coach Murray Stephens. Jeff was a graduate assistant coach at American University and has coached high school and club swimming in Florida. Jeff is also a certified K-12 teacher, a firefighter, an EMT and an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard Instructor. He has taught at several schools in Florida.
Jeff has a B.A from Goucher College, where he swam for four years, and a M.S. from American University.
“These four coaches bring a wealth of experience and proven ability to North Baltimore. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for swimming will benefit our athletes in their disciplined pursuit of excellence,” said Coach Bowman.
Huh..why would this “elite” (or so at NBAC they think) level team need four new coaches? Anything that was ever great there is already gone..
does this mean that they lost/fired 4 coaches?
