Saturday morning saw the final session of the British Gas International Meet, which featured another solid win for Ben Proud and a runaway 200 back victory for Lauren Quigley.
Proud completed his sprinting trifecta by winning the 100 free in 49.78. Proud was the only man under 50 seconds on the day, and added that win to his 50 free and 50 fly titles from earlier in the week.
Meanwhile Quigley ran away with the 200 back, going 2:10.43 to win by over 3.5 seconds. Quigley is still just 19 years old.
The women’s 100 fly was a rematch of the 200 a day before. This time Rachael Kelly got some revenge, going 58.76 to beat Jemma Lowe after Lowe won the 200 Friday morning. Kelly was also the 50 fly champ at this meet.
National backstroking star Chris Walker-Hebborn picked up his second win of the week in the men’s 50 back. His 25.56 just beat out Marco Loughran, who went 25.90.
