JOB DESCRIPTION
Northern Kentucky Clippers (CLPR) are seeking an outstanding, experienced Senior Coach to join a vibrant coaching and training environment in Erlanger, Ky. Candidates must demonstrate: successful experience at multiple levels of coaching; a passion for the sport; the ability to communicate broadly within the Club; and positively represent the Club within the LSC. It is expected that the successful candidate will continue to grow and advance the senior group of the Club, fostering an environment that develops all levels and abilities of swimmers. CLPR, a member of the Ohio LSC, is a successful and growing club, having been recognized by USA Swimming with Silver Medal Club and Level 3 Club status. Over 200 swimmers comprise the year-round club. We train at Silverlake “The Family Place”, located in Northern Kentucky just minutes south of Cincinnati, Ohio. This is an hourly position with competitive reimbursement benefits for all travel. The ideal candidate will be able to start August 30th, 2014.
WHAT IS THE SENIOR GROUP?
The Senior Group of the Northern Kentucky Clippers is a group made up of approximately 40 swimmers ranging in age of 13-18. This is the first of three senior level groups in our program. This group is subdivided (Senior I and Senior II) allowing for training to be specific to swimmers in each group. This group has seen significant growth in ability and commitment. We are looking for somebody to continue to lead this group into higher levels.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity of the senior group (13-18yr olds) and will assist at least one other age group and report to the Head Coach.
v Coaches a minimum of one group
v Creates and Implements Seasonal Plan for Senior Group both Senior I and Senior II
v Writes workouts for both Senior I and Senior II
v Works with the Head Coach to develop and then implements Dryland workouts
v Responsible for attending all lead coaches meetings and all staff meetings
v Works with Head Age Group and Head Coach to set training schedules, and criteria for advancement of Senior group; coordinates stroke and training principles
v Mentors/monitors the coaches for the senior group
v Implements parent education for Senior Group with the assistance of Head Coach
v Works to & execute vision for the team’s growth and continuing success set forth by the Head Coach
QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong work ethic & passion for the sport
• 5+ years coaching experience required with proven ability to write workouts
• Proven coaching record with excellent swimmer progression/results
• Proven ability to mentor/ motivate staff to reach potential
• Working knowledge of Team Unify & Hy-Tek TM required
• Microsoft Office proficiency required
• Current USA Swimming membership/certifications required

Our home, Silverlake The Family Place, allows us the flexibility to offer each group a variety of days for training, so that you and your child can swim while participating in other activities.
Stroke Technique
Our coaches believe that stroke technique must constantly be in the forefront of training if the swimmers are to accomplish their goals.
Endurance Training
As the swimmers age up their endurance training will increase.
Challenging and Fun Competitions
The Clippers host several meets throughout the year which attract competitive swimmers throughout the region. Many of our younger swimmers get the unique opportunity to swim at the very popular Mary Lou Mini Meet which is designed to increase the self-esteem of the young swimmers.
