Luke Nosbisch Impresses with 200 IM – 100 Breaststroke Double At Buffalo Sectional

Katryn Rowe kicked of the 2014 Buffalo Speedo Sectional at the Flickinger Aquatic Center in New York with the first win of the meet, claiming the women’s 200 IM with a quick time of 2:17.64. Makayla Sargent finished second as the only other swimmer under 2:20 at 2:19.54.

Quinn Smith had a two second drop to win the men’s 200 IM with a 2:05.92. Luke Nosbisch finished in second at 2:08.16.

Next up was the women’s 100 freestyle where Jessica Hespeler and Caitlyn Karr finished first and second at 56.76 and 56.99, respectively. Shannon Rauth was just behind them at the wall, finishing third at 57.09. The men’s race was a nail biter between Justin Plaschka, Brian Lovasik and David Sweeney. Plaschka won with a 51.52, while Lavasik was 51.94 and Sweeney reached in at 51.96.

The final events of the day was the men’s and women’s 100 breaststrokes. Alexa Buckley won with a time of 1:13.47 and Jenny Wison was second at 1:13.77. Luke Nosbisch had another strong swim after finishing second in the 200 IM, winning the 100 breaststroke with a 1:04.43. John Gartland was second with a time of 1:04.90.

Tomorrow the action continues with 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 400 IM, and the 400 freestyle relay.
